Artist's Statement

For the last decade we have watched Elon Musk wreak havoc as he moved further and further along the spectrum of right-wing extremism and used his billions to do harm to some of the most marginalized populations. On Inauguration Day 2025, we watched as he gave a Nazi salute-- twice-- during his speech in support of Trump's many horrific policies.

Already the gaslighting has begun as the mainstream media and centrists with influential platforms question what the gesture meant, or whether it happened at all. But we saw it; it happened. And there is no doubt about what it meant: hate is in power, and it no longer needs to hide.

But just because hate has been empowered does not mean it has won. We are still here. We will fight. And we are LEGION.
